Sorry, I can not help in this problem.
I'm not a m4 guru at all :-)

But I'd suggest to ask for newer (working) macro on boost-build list

So, strk what's your opinion about Boost.Test in GEOS?
I'd be glad to hear some confirmation officially, to have it stored in 
list archives :-)
