[geos-devel] [UNCLASSIFIED] making new ploygons out of intersections

Hi all,

I'm looking to perform the following operation on a group of Polygons and Polylines: 


Where Polygons intesect with Polylines and other Polygons, ditch the original polygons and create new smaller polygons out of the segments. 


I'm not sure how to better phrase that... but here is a visual representation:

Is there an algorithm out there that I could help me implement this?
