Dan,
Is it a lot of work to push in the GEOSSubdivideByGrid. If it delays you then I would say pull it out.
If it’s just concern about durability, but api is not going to change, I’d leave it in as any issues with the logic can be fixed in micro versions.

I could pull GEOSGridIntersectionFractions (well-tested with ~7 years of use) into a separate PR for 3.14, and leave GEOSSubdivideByGrid (more experimental) for the next release?
