[Geotiff] cropping of a GeoTiff

Hi,

I need the capability to be able to crop a GeoTiff based on either
rectangular coordinates or against a shape rectangular object.  I believe
that gdalwarp has this capability but I don't know the appropriate
parameters.  Any other suggestions are welcome also.
