xgrass4.1 in Data General(Aviion)

We have some problems with xgrass4.1 in a Data General machine under
"dgux avion 5.4R2.01" operating system.
When We are compiling the Xgi libes the next message appear:

Fatal error /usr/lib/gcc/cc1
Exit status 043

We think that the problem is the size of the symbol table, for example, in a
HP machine we use the -Wp,-H250000 compile-flag to avoid the above problem.
Does anybody know which flag we have to use in avion machine?
