	Hi.

	I tried to compile C-code of my application under IRIX5.2 using
	the same Gmakefile and environment variables as used before 
	under IRIX4.x.  Compiler created all object files, but ld 
	gave the following Error message:

ld:
Object file format error in:
/Users1/lopresti/sergeyva/grass/src/libes/LIB.sgi/
libvect.a(open.o): cannot mix Elf and COFF objects.
*** Error code 1 (bu21)

	Could you, please, tell me what Elf and COFF objects are, and
	what should be fixed in that situation?
