[GRASS5] compiling CVS on IRIX and Win32/Cygwin

I've got the same message.
I'm using the current CVS source code compiled with gcc-2.95 on a Debian 
potato/i386.
It returns me this error with "elevation.dem" from the spearfish 
dataset, so I think dash is not the problem...
