[GRASS5] module i.points

I need help with source codes of module i.points. 
Namely: 
1. What does the functions pick(); free();-analyze.c and 
I_compute_georef_equation();-equ.c? 
2. What used are variables curp, cury - analyze.c and equation_stat
in struct Group? 
3. What used is file cursres.c
