[GRASS5] Want GNU libavl ?

I don't think the author is necessarily against it.  Basically
each tree type has it's own source file, so I guess the idea
was take what you want and leave the rest.  It seems the
author was at least as interested in producing the book about
trees and ways to implement them (including how he did it).
The book is pretty lengthy...
