I have added an UPDATE section to the INSTALL file of 5.1.
Please update

cvs up INSTALL

and check if it is clear now (suggestion welcome).

Right (the 5.0.x release version is not important for 5.1).
Maybe better:

[release_5.0.2]
cvs_head_5.0.x
cvs_head_5.1
