[GRASS5] What's holding 5.3.0 release?

In fairness to you, Markus, I think the discussions on this list made
it clear what the plan is and what the differences between the versions
are.

Having said that, I do have questions about proj4 and r.in.gdal.

My understanding is that the proj4 library is not required for 5.3.
An internal version will be used if not found BUT there is a slight
difference in the versions and a small bug has been fixed in the
grass supplied version. This this correct and does it affect the
release of 5.3? Have we documented the difference?

For r.in.gdal, I made a small attempt to understand why some
people were having seg-fault problems. I still don't understand
this. Is there a difference in r.in.gdal in 5.3? A recent problem
was fixed, I think, relating to DEMS. Is this in the 5.3 version?

And I just remembered r.terraflow. Is that fixed to compile on
gcc 2.9x and >3.x now? I don't see it in the man pages for 5.3 on the
web. Will it be included for 5.3? I assume not.

(I am trying to be helpful here, not a nuisance.)

John
