I don't know if it is easily done but it would be great if d.m. could handle  multiple monitor 
usage.  
having tabs inside d.m. for each monitor and when changing from one tab to another the 
different vector/raster layer structure is displayed and in the background  d.mon sel=x1 is 
running. Martin
