Yes 5.7 also needs to be made accessible.
(Again I'm not sure if we should call it 6 in the end,
but that is a decision later on the road as long as we do not
announce it to be 6 early on.)

Yes: 5.4.0 would be stable.
I suggest to switch to this number, 
	if we had 5.3.x releases.,
	we are sure that all 5.0.x people can savely migrate to 5.3.x
