[GRASS5] libgrass make error II

libtool: ltconfig version `' does not match ltmain.sh version `1.3' 

Q: is to comment out - as suggested by Hamish 
(http://grass.itc.it/pipermail/grass5/2003-May/007848.html) - the official 
workaround or does both Redhat 8.0 and SUSE 9.1 require some additional 
setup? 

Q: does this matter:
/libgrass/gis/Makefile.in Line 77: GRASS_SRC = /u/pkg/grass/src
