Subject: Could not execute monitor: No such file or directory after install grass5.7.cvs-i686-pc-linux-gnu-23_10_2004

Platform: GNU/Linux/i386
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Downloaded precompiled Binaries
GRASS Version: 23_10_2004

I have the version grass5.7.cvs-i686-pc-linux-gnu-04_10_2004 
and it run fine 
 
I downloaded and installed the last version  23_10_2004 and when I run 
 
d.mon start=x0   
 
I have the following error 
 
Could not execute monitor: No such file or directory 
No socket to connect to for monitor <x0>.
