Perhaps move the section on how to ensure output goes to stdout after the 
section on G_message(), so that it is only mentioned once. It is a lot 
clearer to say data output should go to stdout, rather than "output that 
could be redirected through a pipe" IMHO---the two explanations could be 
combined and would simplify the description a bit further (but not too 
much).
