this bug's URL: http://intevation.de/rt/webrt?serial_num=3001

Subject: d.what.vect -e: silently fails if new database link made

On a new system if you edit a vector but have not set up encoding yet:

g.gisenv get=GRASS_DB_ENCODING
<>

v.mkgrid map=thismodulerocks ...

then try to edit the vector with 'd.what.vect -e'

the first time you hit submit you get a warning "View data encoding now is utf-8".

the second time you hit submit it works ok.

.. but the first time you hit submit nothing actually got submitted. it should
do that after setting up the encoding params or at least tell you to resubmit.

also:
when you finally do submit you get
"Record successfully updated"
in an impossible to read light green. Can this be changed to a dark green?
(I can't see where this is done)
