Hi,

I also checked with a current CVS GRASS and the definitions from the manual page "ps.map" and it also crashed in the beginning.
But after updating the spearfish dataset it worked fine.

GRASS 6.0.cvs:~ > ps.map input=muell2.txt output=soils.ps
PS-PAINT: scale set to 1 : 125000.
PS-PAINT: reading raster file <soils in PERMANENT> ...
PS-PAINT: outlining areas in raster file <soils in PERMANENT> ...
PS-PAINT: reading point/line file ...
PS-PAINT: reading vector file <roads in PERMANENT> ...
BOUNDS -103.871110 -103.629427 44.372470 44.503886
PS-PAINT: reading point/line file ...
PS-PAINT: reading text file ...
PS-PAINT: creating color table for <soils in PERMANENT> ...
PS-PAINT: PostScript file "soils.ps" successfully written.

So I guess updating the spearfish dataset will fix this problem - hopefully.

 Otto
