[GRASS5] [bug #2908] (grass) v.in.ascii stopped working for space-delimited files

Subject: v.in.ascii stopped working for space-delimited files

Platform: Mac OSX
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: 6.0cvs

When trying to import space-delimited data files (option fs=' '), v.in.ascii just takes the whole line as 
1 column.  It then fails because it can't find the ycol.

Maximum input row length: 27
Maximum number of columns: 1
Minimum number of columns: 1
ERROR: ycol > minimum last column number

I was previously using the 2004-12-25 CVS snapshot of 5.7 and it did work then.  tab-delimited 
input still works.
