Subject: merge db.describe, db.columns and v.info -c into one

Currently gathering information about the datatable is spread over db.describe, db.columns and "v.info -c" commands. It would be practical to have them all merged into one command with several switches controlling the amount of details printed, say: -n for names only, -nt for names and types etc.

It might be worth considering if to add this functionality to db.table. It could still be used for listing available tables when called plain or with -p or -s, and when called like "db.table table=table_name -switches" would do for describing the table. Only an idea.
