Subject: Use of fftw3

Platform: GNU/Linux/i386
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: 6.0.1 - 2005-08-22

fftw is still available with some effort.  It would seem better to use fftw3 which recognizes 64 bit platforms and other optimizations.
