[GRASS5] gis.m limitation

Michael, Trevor,

Oops! You both caught me on this one. I substituted one bug for another. I'll 
change it back and find a similar solution to the assumption of a clean 
refresh.

By the way, multiple displays have never worked for me in gis.m. I can open a 
new one, but once I do I can never do anything with the old one other than 
pan, zoom, etc. Is there something I'm missing?
