In 6.2, all d.m interactive tools are fine except for the query (?) tool,
which is unresponsive.

Yes, in 6.2, r.digit works fine. In 6.3, r.digit run from d.m is
unresponsive.

(ie does grass-run.sh work?)

It doesn't appear so.
