We had tracked this down and fixed it once already.  It's back:

Creating PBuffer Using GLX 1.3
X Error of failed request:  GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest
  Major opcode of failed request:  143 (GLX)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  16 (X_GLXVendorPrivate)
  Serial number of failed request:  21
  Current serial number in output stream:  22

This happens specifically when trying to export high resolution PPM from
nviz.
