Markus, Brad,   does this work for you in 6.1.0?

In 6.3 if you do:
> If they don't work, you can turn them off:
>	export GRASS_NO_GLX_PBUFFERS=1

?


As the problem appears to be widespread, I propose to disable off-
screen rendering for the 6.2 release branch and work on fixing the
problem in 6.3-cvs.
