Comment:

 I tested it on winxp sp3, and it crashes.

 This is my command:
 r.los input=DEM at andrea output=tr_vis coordinate=300877,4213602
 obs_elev=1.75 max_dist=5000

 I use GRASS 6.3.0 (2008) downloaded from:
 http://grass.osgeo.org/grass63/binary/mswindows/native/WinGRASS-6.3.0-4-Setup.exe
