 i've tested make GDAL_DYNAMIC= together with the patch for gdal.c,
 r.external is working and d.rast map=LinkedRaster is working in the wx-
 gui.

 is "make GDAL_DYNAMIC=" maybe interfering with other things and should
 this be turned on for Grass64?
