[GRASS-dev] why can't I query vector point in nc_spm08 demo data?

Any idea why I cannot query the precip_20ynormals vector points with a mouse in the sc_spm08 data set? I'm using GRASS 7 r53615 compiled on 30 October.

These points have a single data layer with a valid attribute table. If I select all of the points and attempt to highlight them from the table manager, they all turn yellow as they should. But I get "nothing found" when I try to query them with a mouse from the display.
