[GRASS-dev] v.to.rast question

How does v.to.rast resolve conflicts (determine the value to ascribe to the cell) when there is more than one polygon (or point) with different attributes that falls in the same cell? For polygons, does the program look at values near or on the centroid, the total area covered by the polygons or what to determine the value of that cell?
