Thanks, William.  Now I get it.  My $PATH was such that python under
Macports was being found first.  Stupid Macports.  I was using their GDAL
for a while, but once I needed GRASS I jumped over to your stuff and I love
it.  Thanks for making it available and thanks for the clue.
