Javier,
No way to skip the R tutorials.
R is a great environment for statistics,
provided that you use it regularly. It is
not for an occasional use.
Learning R basics will take you a short time,
but you really must devote it that time.
Go to http://cran.r-project.org/other-docs.html and
download one or more of the tutorials.
