[STATSGRASS] GRASS/R interface in ESS

Dear all,

I need some help with programming in GNU R. I try to use
the GRASS/R interface in ESS (Emacs Speaks Statistics)
on Linux.
When I run R command in the ESS, I get the following message:

> library(GRASS)
No GRASS database defined - running in interpreted mode

How do I start up GRASS on Emacs to use R in the ESS?

My environment is
OS: Linux
GNU R: version 1.6.1
GRASS: version grass5.0.0pre4
ESS: version ess-5.1.24
