You are absolutely correct. And this is one of the reasons we are so
impressed with the DELL.  The machine seems to run X/NFS just fine. 
We have it linked to a heterogeneous net composed of several kinds 
of workstations and Xterms.  We haven't gotten the box integrated
with our NIS yet but hope to in the near future.
