GRASS Xdriver

We are running GRASS on SUN sparc 2's with 24 bit displays.
We use openwindows3.0 (beta version) and XDRIVER and XGRASS to 
display GRASS cell files.
Do these drivers only support fixed colortables (256 colors)?

We want to be able to display 
	full rgb images
	greyscale images using all 256 grey levels

Is there something wrong in how we set up openwindows or is it
just not possible with those two drivers. What about using drivers
for SUN windows instead?
