the reason i think there is no signature file produced is because there is no new sig file in  the sig directory with the sig files i made but did not use with i.class.
before i run i.cluster i cd to $LOCATION
when i look for the resultant sig file i started there and worked down
then i cd / and did a "find" on the name that i gave it at the prompt.
all of these tactics revealed no sig file based on the default file.
any clues ??
