Tar and cpio files on the FTP site

     Because of space constraints, CERL is considering using only cpio
archives on moon.cecer.army.mil.  Cpio is an ascii archive, which can be very
helpful in some circumstances.  The tar archives that exist now would, in this
situation, be completely replaced by cpio archives.
     If there are any GRASS users or programmers that do not have access to
cpio, please send mail to ftp-admin at amber.cecer.army.mil describing your
situation.  Please send any comments or opinions as well.
