tektronix 4697 drivers

My question is this: I know that the 4696 printer worked fine with the GRASS
4695 driver, and I'm assuming that the 4697 will do this as well, but I'm
asking the people in GRASSland if this is a reality, before making the
commitment to a new mouth to feed.

Jim,

Don't make that assumption.  The 4697 is a higher resolution printer so
if you use the 4695/4696 driver you will receive your output but it will
be scaled down to a smaller size than you are (were) receiving.  A 4697
driver was developed and released with 4.0 but it didn't properly work
for us.  We were suspecting a hardware problem having something to do
with that however so we weren't able to fully test the driver. 

I would like to know if anyone has used the 4697 driver in 4.0 or not.
Or maybe someone has created their own.
