Resolution

I am looking at a map at different resolutions; however, the resolutions I specify
are not the ones that GRASS uses. That is when I specify a resolution of 270m GRASS
uses 269. This gets worse at larger resolutions (2940m is read as 2861m). Does anyone
know the reason for this or how this could be rectified?
