General Definition of GIS

[D. Wall]

Would love to get input from the group for a general definition of GIS,
twenty words or less, the more succinct the better.  Sorry this isn't a
GRASS specific question, but for those of us just getting started who want
to share our knowledge to upper management (the funds folks) it's a question
I'll need to be ready for.
