Islands of data identified?

GRASSusers's,

Has anyone been able to use the new INFORMIX/GRASS interface to create
new vector maps, and if so, do ISLANDS (a polygon totally inside another
polygon) of data that were not queried for show up (as they should) as
polygons of "no data" within the new map?  (Difficult wording, I apologize)

RIM missed these ISLANDS totally, and just concerned itself with the
external vectors of a polygon.  

Also, not having installed GRASS4.1 yet, does the new "v.reclass" recognize
ISLANDS within polygons selected for reclassification?
