ps.select

I am unable to select a printer using ps.select.  I have defined
PostScript as my printer (also tried naming it test).  When I type
ps.select painter=PostScript

I am told that my usage is incorrect.  I am told that valid printers are

JibberishPostScript.  For example n6PostScript.  Does anyone know
what may be causing the jiberish?

Alternatively, I am looking for a solution to get my maps to a graphics
file.  I do not have the ppm driver.  I tried using xwd, but it makes
the maps so small it was pointless...
