plotting spectral response

Has anyone hacked together a shell script or program using d.where,
r.what, and g.gnuplot to plot response versus wavelength for imagery
groups? Seems like it would produce some good insight when dealing
with AVIRIS-like data. BTW, for image groups, is there a standard file
in the group subdirectory that is supposed to contain wavelength info?
