Something I've been wishing for for a long time: a GRASS FAQ that answers
these and other questions that we see on this list so often. How about it?
I'm willing to work on it... if there are two or three others, we can do
it in a few days!

Precisely because we see these questions rather frequently, I tend to
respond to inquiries off the list.  A GRASS FAQ has been on the OGI
"to-do list" for quite a while now....With all the various transition
of staff and relocation of the GRASS Information Center to the Open
GIS Foundation, the FAQ has never made its way to the top of the list.
Your offer to help out is generous - thanks, and we'll keep it in mind!
Until a FAQ gets priority for either OGF or OGI, however, rest assured
that inquiries are receiving personalized responses!
