DLG Neatline Removal

I am importing a v.patching a lot of USGS DLG's together, and I need to 
programmatically remove the neatlines. (That is, I'll be patching a few 
thousand of these maps together in several layers and I don't want to 
hand-edit every single dataset).  Any good way to do this with minimal effort?
