Dear Rica :

About one week ago, I have encountered a problem as you mentioned
in your question (2). I have successfully installed binary release of
Xgrass4.1 for SUNSparc 2,SUN OS 4.1.2 using Openwin 3.0 and XDRIVER.

First of all, what you have to do is to download binary files,
g.4.cpio.Z.* & xg.4.cpoio.Z.* from the moon.
( all are storyed in the .../release/binary/SUN4 directory.)

Secondly, you should follow the steps described in g.4.README and
xg.4.README files. Remember to umcompress and install Grass4.1 first.
Otherwise, you cannot run Xgrass4.1 successfully on your system.

For Graphics Driver, Grass4.1 can support CELL,SUNVIEW,and XDRIVER.
Therefore,if you have any one of them installed on your SUN workstation,
you will be very happy with the performance of Xgrass.
