To John Stamm,
This might be one of those "GRASS doesn't do
floating point" problems. It only does integers, and this keeps many of us
gnashing our teeth. Multiply your original map by 100 (for two digit
decimals) or 1000 (for three digit). If you do subsequent operations,
remember well how many orders of magnitude you have employed, because it can
get hairy figuring out what are appropriate values at the end of a series of
calculations.
