A few weeks ago Martijn Van Leusen (sorry if I spelled any of that incorrectly)
posted a note about a script for generating hexagonal grids for use in GRASS.
I tried the script and it works great!  We did make a modification so that we
could use it under the c-shell.  I have put a copy of the c-shell script on 
the moon at grass/incoming.  It is called hexgrid.csh.  Martijn's korn shell 
version of this script is also on the moon titled hexgrid.
