Using Laserjet 4

If your Laserjet 4 has the Postscript option, you'll need to copy the 
following file into the directory
'/grass4.1/etc/paint/ps.devices' as e.g. 'laser4'

Then when you're running GRASS, use 'ps.select' and hopefully away you go 
creating maps using 'ps.map'.
