Hello,

I am an undergraduate working on a summer fellowship at the University of
Rhode Island.  I was just given the task to learn how to use grass.  The 
GRASS User's Manual seems just to contain all the commands.  Are there any
documents or tutorials that can step me through using some basic display and
analysis commands using the Spearfish sample dataset?  I guess I will start
reading the manual, but a tutorial that I can follow and actually try on the 
computer would be really helpful in my learning process.

Eventually, I think that my mentor is going to have me looking into importing
side scan sonar or sub-bottom profiler data to GRASS.  Maybe even looking into
developing display methods for these data types in SG3d.  Sounds like alot of
work to me at this point.  If anyone has any hints or suggestions as to where
to start looking into GRASS data formats, I would really appreciate it.
