help printed-manual

Hello All!

I am new not only to GRASS, but to UNIX.  I guess I am really in for trouble.
Anyway, I am having trouble with step 1... getting the users manual to print.

As README says, I type
sh utilities/printed-manual

And I get
Processing sections 1 and 2.
Processing section 3.
Processing section 5.
Starting troff processes.
sh: sh: troff: not found
soelim: not found
Printing.
lpr: /usr/local/grass/manual.23384 is an empty file
Done.

Any suggestions as to what my problem is would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
